We have established a professional collaboration with the Hungarian Comic Association (MKSZ).

As part of this agreement, MKSZ will be involved in selecting and inviting international comic creators for Budapest Comic Con 2025, as well as organizing comic-related stage programs, booths, and autograph sessions.

We firmly believe that this partnership will further elevate the quality of Budapest Comic Con’s comic-focused programming while also providing MKSZ with an opportunity to expand its educational and promotional activities.

Meet internationally famous comic creators and talented Hungarian artists!

Dave McKean

Dave McKean is a British illustrator, and graphic designer, widely recognized for his work in comics, album covers, and films.

His most notable works include the distinctive covers of the Sandman comic series, created in collaboration with Neil Gaiman, as well as Batman: Arkham Asylum.

In addition to comics, he has designed album covers for artists such as Tori Amos, The Rolling Stones, Front Line Assembly, and Alice Cooper. He also played a key role in shaping the visual identity of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Esad Ribić

Esad Ribić is a Croatian comic book artist and painter. He gained fame primarily through his work with Marvel, contributing to iconic series such as Loki, Thor: God of Thunder, Secret Wars (2015), and Silver Surfer: Requiem.

Beyond cover art, he has also made a lasting impact as an interior artist. Ribić began his career working on European comics before breaking into the American market, where he has become one of the most acclaimed and sought-after creators in the industry.

Mike Carey

Mike Carey is a British writer and comic book creator. His most notable work includes the Lucifer comic series, a spin-off from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman universe. Lucifer received both critical and fan acclaim, eventually inspiring a TV series.

From 2006, Carey was the lead writer for X-Men at Marvel for six years, contributing to major storylines such as Messiah Complex and Age of X.

Beyond comics, he is also a well-known novelist, particularly for The Girl with All the Gifts, a post-apocalyptic novel that was adapted into a feature film, as well as The Book of Koli (Infinity Gate in Hungarian).
